I have been wanting to try this FOR.EV.ER (and a day). I think I first saw it at Domestically Speaking (here), and was amazed and intrigued. But, there are just some crafts that intimidate me…plus the idea of ruining my new printer was not a happy one…but, I did it (printed the sign, not ruined my printer, thankfully). I originally tried to do a St. Patty’s Day Subway art onto burlap, but some of the fonts weren’t dark enough and you couldn’t read them once printed. So I figured I needed to simplify. This is what I came up with:
I really didn’t know what to do with them once they were printed (hadn’t thought that far ahead ). So I just grabbed a scrap 2x6, painted it white, distressed it a bit and hot glued the burlap on. Then, I wanted some spring colors, so I added the flowers. I don’t even have turquoise or orange anywhere in my house, but they were so pretty, I couldn’t resist! So this is a picture, showing the actual wood block, from farther away:
I really don’t know if I “love” this one, but I definitely love printing on burlap, and it was so easy! I just need to work on the finished product. What about you? Have you printed on burlap? What did you do with it? I’d love you to link back and share your finished projects!
Thank you for stopping by…please leave a comment and let me know you were here!
I’m linking to Gail’s fun party, go check it out!!!
Your printer really works great on burlap! The ink really shows up.
ReplyDeleteI love both of them! super job,
